BAUN Progresses in the Accreditation Process: Institutional Accreditation Information Meeting Held

An information meeting was held at Balıkesir University (BAUN) to evaluate the current stage of the institutional accreditation process and review the ongoing efforts.

The meeting was chaired by Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel OĞURLU, with the participation of Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cevdet AVCIKURT, Prof. Dr. Murat DOĞDUBAY, and Prof. Dr. Fatih SATIL. Also in attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuray GEDİK, Quality Coordinator; Prof. Dr. Aylin ER, Chair of the Accreditation Board; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hülya TÜRKMEN, Vice Chair of the Accreditation Board; and staff members from the Quality Coordination Office: Lecturer Damla KÜTÜKLÜ, Şeref AKYOL, Muhammed ÇİMEN, and Attorney Hilal SERT KAYA.

During the meeting, institutional accreditation and governance-focused initiatives coordinated by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat DOĞDUBAY were presented by the relevant staff members through a series of presentations.

In his remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel OĞURLU emphasized the critical role of institutional accreditation in enhancing quality and ensuring sustainable development in universities. He stated:

“As Balıkesir University, our goal is to establish a strong and sustainable structure in the areas of education, research, societal contribution, and institutional governance, and to transform this into a lasting culture. With the contributions of all our academic and administrative stakeholders, we are progressing toward becoming a more qualified, more competitive, and stronger university.”
