Peer Evaluation Training Meeting Held for the First Time at Balıkesir University
As part of quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts at Balıkesir
University, a peer review training meeting was held for the first time. The
meeting, which aimed to enhance the quality processes of academic units within
our university and strengthen internal evaluation mechanisms, attracted
significant attention with nearly 182 participants.
The meeting was conducted via our university's online meeting platform,
BAUNMEET. The presentation was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Nuray
GEDİK, Quality Coordinator. She provided detailed information about the
importance of the peer review process, the methods to be implemented, and the
reporting templates. In addition, a timeline for the process was shared, and
the framework of the implementation was outlined.
According to the announced schedule, peer review practices will commence on
September 8, 2025, and will be carried out as part of the quality assurance
efforts in academic units. During this process, units will evaluate each
other’s activities in education and training, research and development, and
community engagement, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement.
The Quality Coordination Office of Balıkesir University emphasized that the
peer review process will support institutional learning, enhance experience
sharing, and contribute to strengthening the culture of quality within our
university.
